If you have life all figured out, disregard the following. If you are still learning and growing as you continue your journey, one or more of the following opportunities are for you.

A series of new and, in some cases, updated adult activities will launch at FPC this fall, all intended to help our adult members meet new friends and deepen existing friendships, grow in their faith and/or increase their knowledge about the Bible and our Lord and Savior. Among the highlights is a new Sunday evening discussion group that will meet at the same time as our youth group meetings, perfect for parents and open to all adults. Other highlights include a series led by Pastor Peggy on how to grow in your prayer life and a revamped “Confirmation for Adults” class led by Pastor Dan.

Two of the classes below will be offered in both day and evening versions, allowing you to pick the time that works best for you. Please check out the list below and consider which one(s) will assist your journey through life.

Munch Bunch: “Gospel of John”
Tuesdays, beginning September 15th. 10:00 a.m.
Leader: Karen Norberg
Another long-standing tradition, the Munch Bunch is best described as a group of friends learning about the Bible together. This year’s Munch Bunch kicks off with a weekly examination of the fourth Gospel – a view of Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and teachings as recounted by the “beloved disciple,” John.

Horizon Bible Study: “Come to the Waters”
the third Wednesday of each month, beginning September 16th. 10:00 a.m.
Leader: Roz Runnels
A long-standing FPC tradition, the Horizon study this year is “Come to the Waters.” The focus of the study will be the theme of water beginning with the chaos of water in Genesis to the river of life flowing from the throne of God in the book of Revelation.

Embracing Your Prayer Life
beginning September 16th and 17th. 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays and repeated Thursdays, at 9:00
a.m. Leader: Pastor Peggy
From Pastor Peggy: I am looking forward to hosting a 4-week series that I call "Going Deeper in Your Prayer Life.” Each week, I will be offering to you different styles of prayer practices, you will learn about their origin, who used them and why, and then we will practice these different styles of prayer ourselves. My hope is that you will find practices that you can put into your own personal prayer life to help you go deeper into the life of God.

Sunday Evening Gatherings
Sundays, beginning September 20th, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Leaders: Jeff and Connie Fuller
A discussion and fellowship group. The evenings will begin with watching a short video in the “Nooma” series, featuring Pastor Rob Bell. The videos focus on a wide range of topics and Jeff and Connie will come armed with questions and ideas to get the discussion flowing. Each evening will be a self-contained unit, so if you miss a week, you can plug in the following week. This group opens an exciting new chapter in our church. With our Youth Groups using the Family Life Center, space is now available for adults and youth to meet in the church building at the same time. Sunday evenings will become a busy time at the church. Child care is available with advance notice to the office. This gathering is ideal for parents dropping off students for youth group, but is open to all adults in the church and community.

Peter and Paul
Mondays beginning September 21st. This 6-week class will be held twice each Monday at 2:30 p.m.
and again at 7:00 p.m.
Leaders: Joe Moore, Tom Davies, and Gary Cynowa
From Tom Davies: On a plane to Seattle, I was reading my 365 day bible. That day, I was in Acts. The verse was about Paul and Silas visiting the seaport of Troas. Paul and Silas were beaten and put in stocks in prison. That night an earthquake occurred, but neither Paul nor Silas left their cell. The jail guard was awe struck that they did not leave, thus saving his life. He went on to become a Christian. As you know Jesus chose Saul, later to be known as Paul, to spread the good news to not only the Jews, but also the Gentiles. Jesus called Peter the Rock on which His church would be built. It is because of Peter and Paul that we Gentiles have received this good news. Many times we have been asked who we would like to meet throughout history.  A logical answer would be Jesus, but after that, many would agree that meeting either Peter or Paul would be a wonderful experience. They lived their faith to the fullest. They suffered tremendously for preaching this faith and died horrible deaths for their faith. Brought back by popular demand, is a study of these two pillars of our Christian faith. Please join us for an in-depth, video-based study.

Confirmation for Adults
Wednesdays, beginning October 14th. 7:00 p.m.
Leader: Pastor Dan
This class is based on the same curriculum taught to our teens as they are confirmed in church. You will learn or review the basics about Who is God? Did Jesus Have to Die? What is Communion and Baptism? How Does the Church Work? At the end of the 6-week session, participants will be asked to write a short statement of faith to help them succinctly summarize their own beliefs.

Journey to Bethlehem
Mondays, beginning November 30th. 7:00 p.m.
Leader Pastor Peggy
Pastor Peggy's 4-week sermon series for the season of Advent will be based on Adam Hamilton's "Journey to Bethlehem." Each week of Advent we will journey with Mary, Joseph, Mary and Elizabeth, and to the manger. Each week this DVD series will help us trace their steps as Jesus was about to be born. Pastor Peggy will also be sharing from her own experiences and photos from the Holy Land.
