What is a Stephen Minister?
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-on-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. Twice a month, Stephen Ministers gather with their Stephen Leaders for supervision and continuing education.

Why do we need them?
As our church family continues to grow, Stephen Ministers will become the additional caring ministers needed.  They will be able to give additional time that may be needed by parishioners as they face difficult life circumstances.  This is a ministry of presence that people feel called to by the Holy Spirit.

How can I learn more?
Jeanie Kirkum, an already trained leader for Stephen Ministry, will be hosting a workshop on Wednesday, August 13that 7:00 p.m. in the parlor.  She will be introducing Stephen Ministry to you.  You may use this as an information gathering session only or perhaps you may be interested in serving God in and through this ministry.  Barbara O’Mara and your pastor, who will also have their leadership training, will be joining Jeanie.
